lisa Scaredy Cat has been a little under the weather cuz he's got one of those nasty colds that make a pet feel yucky and tired. Word got out amongst his friends and neighbors and they decided to stop by with some little things to help lift his spirits a bit. The party bear came with some brightly colored balloons - who doesn't like balloons? One of the Quints dug out a beloved tattered teddy and hopes it will bring a feeling of contentment to his friend while he is on the mend. Of course Joy has a gift - that's what she does best - isn't it? And Bob, being the thoughtful neighbor that he is, got a box of treats for Scaredy Cat's dog - can't forget the dog! No one is quite sure if the gift that Grizzle has will be welcomed - but it's the thought that counts and he is trying to be a good neighbor - so he does get some credit. Hopefully, Scaredy Cat will feel better soon so that he can let his friends and neighbors know how much he appreciates them.
This week, we're going to celebrate Good Neighbor Day, which takes place annually on September 28th. This day was created to acknowledge and celebrate the importance of a good neighbor. How can you be a good neighbor? Will you do share that cup of sugar your neighbor needs so that you both can have tea and cakes together? Can you pick up the mail for your neighbor while they go on holiday? Does your neighbor have some physical limitations and could use a hand shoveling the snow during the winter? Maybe you have new neighbors - make a plate of cookies and stop by to welcome them to the neighborhood! Or your neighbor is moving away - can you help with packing up their home? Can you offer to watch their pet or children while they run errands? What kind of things can you do to show that you're a really good neighbor?
