It's International Black Cat Awareness Month and Scaredy Cat and a bunch of the neighboring black cats are gathered to have a peacefull rally in support of black cats. There are many superstitions surrounding the feline with sable fur, and the one stating that your luck is going to have a downward turn if you have one walk in front of you is the most prevalent. So often black cats are the last to be adopted at shelters because of those myths and for other sad reasons. The goal is to help change hoomans ideas and awareness about black cats. They might even try to convince you that it is the best idea in the world to go and adopt a black cat because black cats are totally awesome!

The famous comedien, Groucho Marx probably said it best when he stated ”A black cat crossing your path signifies that the animal is going somewhere." This week we're going to help Scaredy Cat and the others bring awareness about black cats and their awesomeness. How can you help? Maybe you've got your own black kitty - you can share stories of how your feline has enriched your life. You can stop by your local rescue to help with a black cat adoption event in your community. If you're love cats and have room for one more, go adopt a black one! Take photos of your black kitty and share it on your social media pages! There's lots of ways to bring awareness to the plights of these cats that are so often overlooked just because of their color. What will you do?
