Scaredy Cat is doing his best to hide in as big a box as he could find. Friday the 13th is in a few days and with all that he's heard about that day, he is terrified. There are apparently a whole bunch of things that could happen that would bring about bad luck and he wants no part of anything that could be bad. Walking under a ladder is supposed to be bad luck. Don't break a mirror on Friday the 13th or you'll have 7 years of bad luck. And he's heard that it's bad luck if a black cat crosses your path!! Who would ever think that he would bring any pet or hooman bad luck of any kind? He figures that if he hides for the day, he can avoid causing bad luck and avoid having something take place that would bring him bad luck. He lowers himself into the box and waits for the day to end.

This week....Friday the 13th is coming and with that comes lots of superstitions. Step on a crack, break your mama's back. Breaking a mirror will bring you 7 years of bad luck. Spilling salt, opening an umbrella indoors, the number 13 are some things considered bad luck. Knocking on wood, crossing your fingers (wait - how do you cross your fingers when you have paws and hooves?), finding a four-leaf clover - there are superstitions out there that are supposed to bring good luck. This week - we'll share our thoughts on "good luck" versus "bad luck". Does your pet believe in good or bad luck? Is it circumstance or coincidence? Will your pet hide like Scaredy Cat just to play it safe or will they take on the attitude that nothing will phase them and bring on all those black cats!
