Library Shelfie Day

lisa
Scaredy Cat and Bob are at the library, at Bob's insistence. He read on the internet that it's "Library Shelfie Day" and since he absolutely loves selfies, he thought going to the library to take a bunch of selfies was a fantabulous idea!! With his phone securely attached to his selfie stick, Bob tries to give direction to Scaredy Cat as to where to stand and what kind of facial expression he should use (maybe try smiling?) While Scaredy Cat truly loves being in the library or anyplace else that has books (he really does enjoy reading), he doesn't see what the big deal is about having a selfie done at the library. Bob takes selfies at so many places - why does he have to do it here? Oh well...maybe he'll do what his friend wants just to make him happy.

This week we're taking "shelfies"!! A shelfie is a selfie taken at the library - whether at the "public" library or your own personal home library. They can be taken at the local big name book store or one of those mom and pop book stores that have incredible finds somewhere in the far corner of the shop. Library Shelfies offer book stores, libraries, schools, and individuals an opportunity to express their reading preferences through a single photograph. Whether they frame their favorite authors, titles, genres or cover art, readers share a bit of their library in creative ways. With or without dust jackets, signed and unsigned, dogeared and in mint condition, bibliophiles love books of all kinds. Whether you have a small library with a few select favorites or are a true bibliophile, arrange your collection on a shelf and take a picture. Some suggestions include:
*Arrange by color
*Order books by height, thickness, width
*Arrange book titles so they send a message
*Stack books artistically
*Place books in the order in which they were read
*Rely on the good ol’ alphabetical order by author
*Display a biography only shelfie
