Scaredy Cat and Bob are visiting the local botanical garden where they are having a special event taking place over the next week. Red Rose Day is being celebrated on June 12th, and the garden has many wonderful and unique displays of roses of multiple varieties. Amongst the displays, there are vendors selling single-stemmed roses with or without a decorative vase to a variety of bouquets featuring a single color to multiple colors in the group. Bob has found a single, long-stemmed red rose to get for his mom (who is also called "Bob"). He proudly shows off its rich, deep color to Scaredy Cat who, himself, has a single bloom attached to his collar. What a lovely outing this is - Scaredy Cat likes these kinds of activities. This week, we're celebrating Red Rose Day! A well-known symbol of love in addition to being a beautiful and fragrant flower, it’s no wonder that Red Rose Day is such a popular occasion. Red Rose Day gives fans a chance to see roses at their best, blooming in glorious abundance at the height of the season. How will you and your pet celebrate? Will you visit a local garden or nursery to wander amongst the plenteous varieties of roses like Scaredy Cat and Bob? For the gardeners amongst us, will you plant a rose bush in your garden and watch as that bush becomes an object of beauty? Maybe you don't have a green thumb but are quite artistic! You could create a painting of roses. You could get some artificial roses and put together a pretty wreath to hang from your front door! Maybe you could go to the local market and purchase a single rose and give it to someone who could use a bit of cheering up! We're excited to see what comes of this week's challenge inspire by such beauty!
