Animal Rights

Scaredy Cat
Today, Scaredy Cat and Bob held vigil for the most important day in their lives - International Animal Rights Day. They're blessed that their hooman loves and treats them like family, but they also think of those who were being mistreated and wishing all the best for all. Bob vows to always look after all his animal buddies wherever he goes, and Scaredy Cat will make sure to champion all of the rescue missions that his hooman chooses to help.
Each year on December 10th during International Animal Rights Day, animal rights advocates around the world seek to persuade people that kindness and respect are owed to all sentient beings. This, of course, includes animals.
Animal lovers around the world celebrate this day by holding candlelight vigils. This is to draw attention to the Universal Declaration of Animal Rights. This declaration states that animal rights are a logical progression from basic human rights. People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) encourages individuals to participate in this day by not eating animals. They also encourage people to adapt a vegan lifestyle. PETA states that by doing so, 100 animals per year will be saved.
Scaredy Cat’s hooman believes that you can treat an animal ethically and with love and compassion. She (along with many others) believes that while hunting or fishing for sport (to show off what you’ve caught) – where you create a trophy of some sort is not right by any means, it is ok to hunt and fish for food and clothing, along with making use of what the animals have given up for a hooman’s sustainability. Each person has a right to their beliefs and it’s ok to agree to disagree.

Most people understand that animals can feel pain. Many also believe animals can feel and perceive feelings. For these reasons, it’s important to realize that like humans, animals deserve to have rights. To do everything they can to guard animal rights, activists believe humans should:
• Stop thinking of animals as human property and think of them as companion animals instead of pets.
• Stop experimenting on animals.
• Stop using animals for entertainment and sporting events, which includes rodeo, greyhound racing, horseracing, using them in movies and in the circus, and putting marine animals on display.

This week, Scaredy Cat and Bob wants the whole PnF community to come together and celebrate their special day by interpreting it via their artwork. The plight for animal rights can be showed in so many ways as we all love our pets and animals in general. The art can be of the love we pour out to our pets, the things we do in campaigning for the helpless and the many rescue efforts all over the world. PnF love animals!!

Here's the basics:
* Your submission MUST be related to the theme.
* You must submit your art to the PnF art gallery - only entries there will be counted. https://www.pets-n-friends.com/community.php?id=20
