T is for....

lisa
Today at Summer School, Mrs. Octavia Owl is teaching the students about the letter "T". She explains that there are many, many words that begin with this letter. She has written some examples of words beginning with "T" on the chalk board and has a few items on the display table that all begin with the letter "T". She also teaches them that the letter "T" can be the beginning of the name of a country, such as "Turkey" or "Tasmania" and the name of a city, such as "Trenton", "Tokyo" and "Tel Aviv". There are names of people and pets such as "Tommy", "Theresa" and "Tippy". "Tic-Tac-Toe" and "Tiddlywinks" are a couple of games beginning with "T". She then tells the students she would like them to create a display board of things beginning with "T". As she's explaining the assignment, Bob is looking at his foot very carefully as he thinks to himself, "Toes - toes begins with 'T'!" Scaredy Cat stares at Mrs. Owl as he thinks about things he knows that begin with the letter "T". He's hoping that her assignment won't be too difficult - how many things CAN there be with the letter "T"??

This week the letter "T" is the focus! What begins with that letter that also rhymes with a hot (or cold) beverage? What activities can you do that begin with "T"? Do you have a favorite food that begins with "T"? Is there someone in your family who has a name such as "Tina", "Troy" or "Tiny"? Do you have a favorite pasttime that starts with this letter? Traveling? Tap dancing? There are so many things that start with "T" and we're trusting that you'll share them with us this week!!
