Facebook Goes Down
lisa Scaredy Cat and Bob are heading to the city centre to have lunch and get some books to read for the week. They notice a group of pets gathering around a poster on the wall and wander over to see what is going on. Bob exclaims loudly as he reads shocking news on the poster. Tommy Tealbug is in big trouble and the authorities are looking for him. Apparently, he is the cause for the hours-long outage with Facebook and a few other social media networks yesterday. The outage affected users worldwide, lasting for most of the day. There was a lot of confusion as to what had happened as it was almost impossible to find the cause. Some speculated that their local internet services were down, which they later learned was not the case. On the side, Tommy's mother looks on at the poster and then the growing crowd in complete horror. This is going to completely ruin the family name. She is embarrassed more than her facial expression can convey, yet she is rooted to the spot she stands in out of fear and anguish. The biggest question on her mind is did Tommy really do this horrible deed? If not, who did it and why are they pinning it on her son?
Facebook went down yesterday for many hours and we're interested in how you handled the chaos. Did you wonder if there someone or somepet who thought it would be great fun to cause worldwide dispruption of this and other social media platforms? Was it a solo job or was it done by a group? Why would anypet want to bring havoc to the majority of the world's population by disrupting these services? Is there someone in your family that exhibits behaviors that would lead you to suspect their involvement? Are there lots of whispers about how this could have taken place without warning? What did you do with yourself while you were unable to spend a good part of your day on Facebook? Did you go to the library to take part in the mystery book club? If you're like Bob, you may have taken a ride to the local sweet shop for an ice cream sundae or a thick and creamy milkshake. Maybe you got out your cookbooks and picked out something new to make for dinner? You decided that it was a good day to start exercising by riding your bike. Did you choose to take a leisurely walk around the neighborhood or jump back in bed and take an extra long nap? Did you actually have Facebook withdrawals? It will be interesting to see what your views are on this crazy day and what you and your pet did during the "crisis".
