It's a beautiful Spring-like day so Scaredy Cat, Bob and JJ went for a walk and stopped on the stairs at the park for a rest. Bob was eating from a bag of chips when he noticed Scaredy Cat was bopping his head along to his headphone music. He asked JJ what Scaredy Cat is listening to, since he knew Scaredy Cat was busy enjoying his music and wouldn't hear him. She responded that he is enjoying his bird songs. "Bird songs?" Bob questioned JJ. "Bird songs as in the sounds birds make"? asked Bob. JJ lifted her sunglasses then stated that there are all kinds of music that make references to birds, such as ‘Rockin' Robin’, ‘Bird is the Word’, ‘Free Bird’, ‘When Doves Cry’ and many more! And Scaredy Cat finds bird song that the birds sing very soothing and calming too." "We do have lots of birds in PnF, we should use this in the art challenge" suggested Bob. "I believe Scaredy Cat would approve" says JJ. They decided they would let him know what they came up with after he took off his headphones. JJ put her sunglasses back on, enjoyed the warm sun and Bob finished enjoying his chips while the three of them watched the birds for a bit before heading home.
This week’s art challenge is about Bird Songs. Whether it is a song that references birds or about different types of birds and their songs, we want to see what you create. Did you know that birds sing for various reasons, to mark their territory, as mating calls, to mark time of the day, as fun activity? It is an unanimously accepted fact that Nightingales have the sweetest song in the world. Since prehistoric times, birds and their ability to fly have been constant sources of wonder for humans. There are hundreds of songs that mention birds in them.
