St Patrick's Day
Today we find Scaredy Cat, JJ and Bob out searching for four leaf clovers when they saw a rainbow. Bob told Scaredy Cat that legend has it that if you can find the end of the rainbow you will find a pot of gold. Scaredy Cat was a little hesitant to believe in such things, however he thought it would be a fun adventure, so he and JJ tagged along with Bob. Scaredy Cat was explaining to Bob that the rainbow is a mirage that keeps moving when suddenly, they came up on a beautiful archway with a pot of gold sitting under it! Bob exclaimed "we're rich", but just then JJ started barking at something trying to get their attention. That's when Scaredy Cat noticed the Leprechaun. "We can't take that Leprechaun's gold Bob, but we can go back and tell all our friends in PnF about what we found". Bob said "you're right, we wouldn't want to do that. Let's make St Patrick's Day our them this week since it's coming up on March 17th". They all agreed that is a fantastic idea and Bob found his four leaf clover to bring home.

St. Patrick’s Day is celebrated annually on March 17, the anniversary of his death in the fifth century. St. Patrick’s Day 2025 will take place on Monday, March 17. The Irish have observed this day as a religious holiday for over 1,000 years. On St. Patrick’s Day, which falls during the Christian season of Lent, Irish families would traditionally attend church in the morning and celebrate in the afternoon. The Irish countryside may be many shades of green, but the oldest known heraldic symbol for Ireland is a gold harp on a blue background. Why did green become so emblematic of St. Patrick that people began drinking green beer, wearing green and, of course, dyeing the Chicago River green to mark the holiday he inspired? The association probably dates to the 17th century when supporters of Irish independence used the color to represent their cause.
