In the Art: Epic Work category of the PnF Olympics, Edgar declaimed his tragi-comic verses in rhyming trochaic octameter: "Reflections on the influence of Hakaru Hashimoto (1881 – 1934) of Igamachi, Japan and his protocol on the treatment of thyroiditis". Edgar was pleased to note that, the better to appreciate his long poem, the judges had relaxed and closed their eyes.
