Hoorayrah and jimkitty are excited to find out what is in store for them in the Autumn Experience! As they enter, they each receive a free map! It reads:
Fall Fairground South
Roll up! Roll up! After sunset the fairground is transformed into a glittering arena of swirling lights, with a backdrop of squawks, yelps and howls from pets clinging on for dear life to the scary rollercoaster and whirling round on the fluorescently lit big wheel! The best view is of course from the top, so c'mon, everypet, and have the experience of your life! For pets preferring a gentler ride, hold on tightly to the reins while our carousel horses look after you on a circular journey under a blue starry canopy. Then it's time to indulge in candy, popcorn, gingerbread and pumpkin pie made from the fall harvest! Hopefully everypet will have enough silver moles left to buy a magnificent helium balloon to take home ...

Slimer gulped in dismay. “It’ll be quite safe, won’t it, Hoorayrah?” it whispered.
”Yes, of course,” Hoorayrah reassured them. “They’ve not lost a pet yet!”

@ Roller Coaster Boaster
Caroline Piper, just about to board the next ride, paused and looked around the fairground. "I was just wondering if they had one of those nice, gentle rides where you sit in, you know, giant teacups," he said wistfully. Hoorayrah grinned. "C'mon, Caroline Piper, this ride should be on your bucket list! Not that you're going to kick the bucket for many years yet!"

Your cart reaches the top of the slope and then there is a moment of calm when it pauses before it starts on its helter-skelter journey downwards -- until it hits the next climb back upwards!

Ginny was at the end of the queue for food when Hoorayrah joined her. “It’s been a long time since lunch!” said Hoorayrah.

"You get a marvellous view from the top of this ride, don't you, Hoorayrah?" said Orpheus idly. "Look, isn't that the windmill in the purple rea- —AARGGHH! AAARRGGGHHHH! OH-H-H-H! MAAAAAKE I-I-I-T STO-O-O-O-O-O-OP! AAARRGGGHHHH! STOP L-L-LAUGHING, YOU H-H-HORRIBLE CREATURE!"

“Hello again, Hoorayrah!” called Népomucène Bibliophilus. “Do you want to join me on this ride?”
“You bet—let me just finish my ice cream!” Népomucène Bibliophilus waited while Hoorayrah had the last lick of ice cream and munched the last inch of cornet, then they excitedly queued up for the ride!

Ferris wheels are named after George W. Ferris, a US engineer from Pittsburgh, who built the first one for the World Expo in Chicago in 1893. Expo visitors found unexpected excitement and novelty. Not only the Ferris wheel but the amazing new wonder that ran it—electricity—were presented for the first time in America.

While Flicka was trying to decide whether to go for a medium or large size, Hoorayrah came up to say hello. “I’m going to go for super-size!” said Hoorayrah.

Helium (from Greek Helios - 'Sun') is a chemical element, symbol He and atomic no. 2. It is a colorless, odorless, tasteless, non-toxic, inert, monatomic gas, the first in the noble gas group. Helium is the second lightest and second most abundant element in the observable universe. Its use in filling balloons for our delight is a very minor one, but one we love!
