@ Sled Dog in Training
Sly and Celeste have been given a free map to help them enjoy their Winter Tour! Before unfolding it, they read the cover:
Winter Wildlife
A cute little fellow greets the pets this morning to herald the arrival of the morning's transport. The pets will pass wintry landscapes and greet all kinds of wildlife. They have the opportunity to explore bridges, a forest, a river and a snowbound wooden cabin before heading home in the sunset to that night's lodging. While passing the lumber store, they meet two more appealing little creatures keeping out of the cold. The pets then go inside for welcome bowls of soup and wind up their day by creating hot drinks with special chosen garnishes.
Sled Dog in Training
This pup may be young but he will learn much just by running alongside the team and hearing the musher call out the directions. Some day he may even be the lead dog.

Episode 2/27

@ Straight Ahead, Team!
“I'm already looking forward to tonight's hot drink by the fire, Sly,” said Akiren Kurumiya (Joker).
"Hey, a snowshoe expedition will warm you up!" replied Sly.

Straight Ahead, Team!
Eagerly jumping in their harnesses, the sled dog team lunges forward at the sound of the driver's command to "Hike!" The sled glides along the snowy path effortlessly thanks to the well-trained team. What seems like work to us is actually a great source of joy for a sled dog. Every time a musher decides to go out, every dog in the kennel is excitedly barking and jumping, hoping they get chosen to be on the team.

@ Snowy Bench
"Wasn’t it worth coming all this way, Sly," said Miss Mousse, "for this experience alone?"
Sly, admiring the scene they were now in, heartily agreed!

Hikers welcome a sight such as this during a long, snowy trek. Chances to sit for a bit to rest are far and few between on the trails. Benches in places like this are usually erected in memory of a loved one who enjoyed the outdoors or as an eagle scout project.

@ Fox on the Prowl
Sly and NUTTER shook paws, then looked around in awe, wishing they hadn’t already eaten their lunch! This was the most perfect place to spread the waterproof blanket for a picnic!

Foxes have a keen sense of hearing and can hear its prey scurrying underground even under the cover of snow. It is poised to pounce quickly and seize the opportunity for a tasty hard-to-find winter snack.

@ Through the Frozen Wetlands
“Last night's accommodation was amazing, Sly,” said why.way. "Those sofas! I'm looking forward to seeing where we'll stay tonight!"
"Me too!" replied Sly. "I'm certainly ready for a nice hot drink."

Through the Frozen Wetlands
The carefully constructed boardwalk allows hikers to safely traverse the wetlands while protecting its inhabitants. While they are hibernating at the moment, at the first sign of spring, the environs come alive with the chorus of spring peepers and other critters who call this land home.

@ Squirrel in the Snow
"Hey, Sly, how does a coniferous tree get ready for a date?" asked zora.
"Tell me?" said Sly.
"It spruces itself up!" chortled zora.

I know I hid that corn cob somewhere around here but a recent snowfall has covered it up. Now I will have to check every lumpy spot in the snow to find it. Boy, will I be glad when I do! I'm hungry!

@ Snowy Cabin in the Forest
"This is fabulous, Paxton" enthused Sly. "I'll have this photo printed and framed and display it next to my plush seal that I got in the little gift shop near Snow Beach and the model of St Basil's Cathedral from Icon!"
"You'll have a fine collection of mementos, Sly!" said Paxton.

Snowy Cabin in the Forest
The freshly plowed path beckons you to the cozy cabin tucked into the dense evergreen forest. Oh, I can already feel the warmth of the wood-burning stove and can't wait to kick off my boots and relax under a warm quilt with a cup of hot cocoa.

@ Snow-Covered Fence
“If there's time at the end when we get back to our accommodation, I might do some initial sketches for a watercolour painting," Buttercup said, offering Sly a toffee from the bag and then unwrapping one for herself.
“That sounds like a good plan, Buttercup!" said Sly. "And very in keeping with the hygge theme!"

Snow-Covered Fence
The snow-covered fence marks the border of this sparse remote land. With one lone tree off in the distance and no hoof or paw prints in the freshly fallen snow, there doesn't appear to be much activity here. Perfect, just the way I like it!

@ European Crested Tit
"How many needles grow on a pine tree, Banter Paws?" said Sly.
"Goodness, I don't know, Sly. How many?"
"All of them!"

A common songbird found throughout the deciduous and coniferous forests in Central and Northern Europe, the crested tit does not migrate. It is very vocal with its nearly constant song of zee, zee, zee.

@ Misty Evergreen Forest
“Last night's accommodation was amazing, Sly,” said BUCKEY. "Those sofas! I'm looking forward to seeing where we'll stay tonight!"

An unusually warm day has caused snow to melt on the hillside at the edge of the dense forest. A layer of mist hovers within the stately evergreens, shrouding any residents from our view.

@ Snowy Owl Solo
“Ooh, it's just starting to get a bit cold, Sly!” said Danaë. “Can you hold my gloves and map while I dig out my scarf?"
Sly good-naturedly took charge of Danaë's possessions while she emptied her rucksack of a pack of sandwiches, a Thermos flask, a pair of galoshes, a bag of toffees, a paperback novel, a bottle of mineral water, an address book, some postage stamps, an assortment of different coloured biros, a bottle opener, a couple of old train tickets, a handful of golden and silver moles, a door key, some shopping receipts, a screwdriver, a bottle of multivitamins, a lottery ticket and a selection of rather battered sachets of salt, sugar and tomato ketchup before locating the scarf right at the bottom. This she donned and then Sly helped her put everything back in her rucksack.

Snowy Owl Solo
A single snowy owl sits motionless on the ground. Under normal winter conditions, it would be well-camouflaged but the absence of snow allows us to catch a rare glimpse of its beautiful pristine feathers.

@ Snowy Stillness
"Do you think we'll see penguins like we did on Snow Beach that time, MooCow?" asked Sly.
"Oh gosh, Sly, do you remember those sharks, and the octopus as well? Poor Fresco took one look and hid in the bottom of the boat!" responded MooCow.

A fresh snowfall has brought a beautiful stillness over the landscape. Leafless trees now have a fresh adornment.

@ Snowy Owl Duet

Look whoooo stopped by. The solo snowy owl's mate. Looks like we get a double treat of beautiful white feathers as this species of owl is commonly spotted in the daytime, unlike its brown cousins.

"I goes before E—except when your foreign neighbour Keith receives eight counterfeit beige sleighs from feisty caffeinated weightlifters!" declared Sly.
Making Tracks
A lone skier and an unidentified hooman make tracks in the freshly-fallen snow. The nearby building provides a shelter for any adventuresome passersby that need it.

“I could stay here forever, Sly,” said 蓝湛. “This is an amazing place!”
“Well, you never know what lies ahead, 蓝湛. I wouldn't be surprised if the next stop is even better!” said Sly.

“You know, this is one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen, Sly!” said Pricilla.
"It's very nice indeed—but you never know, the next leg of the tour might be even better!" said Sly.

Butterflies are a universal symbol of transformation and change, as no creature undergoes such an amazing metamorphosis as the caterpillar to butterfly. On a spiritual level the butterfly is associated with the soul and rebirth. These delicate frosty butterflies with their wings rimmed in violet are a true delight.

Anything you could possibly want for your hot cocoa is in this handy tray. I'm just going to pile mine high with marshmallows and a piece of dark chocolate candy.
