@ Plasma Phenomenon

Blue And Copper Egg
The first painted eggs came from Mesopotamia, and because eggs were forbidden food during Lent, people painted eggs while Lent was being observed—after Lent, they would eat the eggs on Easter Day.

Beautifully decorated eggs “pysanka” are associated with Ukraine, and the oldest painted egg that was unearthed in northern Ukraine is dated to the end of the 17th century.

A beautiful purply-green plasma phenomenon. You can almost feel the energy fizzing from it!

@ Earth Tones
"Wind speed is measured with a device called an anemometer. There's a project here for making an anemometer, Kaplan. We could try it out tonight when we get back to the accommodation."
"Goodness, Frisky! Isn't it terribly technical and scientific to do that?" queried Kaplan.
Frisky studied the diagram helpfully provided in the brochure. "Nah. It seems to be made of empty yoghurt cartons and stuff. We'll give it a go!"

"Did you read what it said under that exhibit earlier, Dave?" asked Kaplan. "It stated that early windmills' sails turned anti-clockwise but later makers shifted mainly to clockwise."
"Wow, Kaplan! It's one of those things I'd never have thought about!"

Spark Of Celebration
Celebrations bring people together to share their customs. Lights and fire have always been part of celebrations. The fizz and crackle of a sparkler held in hand bring delight, casting its tiny glow on happy faces.

"A trivia question for you, Choose a name!" announced Kaplan. "Who is the largest consumer of fireworks in the United States?"
Choose a name pondered. "I don't know, Kaplan, who is it?"
"It's Walt Disney World. The park launches the fireworks with compressed air instead of gunpowder to reduce fumes and gain better height and timing."
Celebrate With Candles
Ever since candles were invented by the Romans in 500 BC, candles have been a part of celebrations and life in general. A candle is a light to banish the darkness, placed in a window as a beacon for a weary traveller. Candles have been used to tell the passing of time, to warm a room, and as a symbol of hope. That tiny flame means so much to so many people.

"At the time of the Great Fire of London in 1666 there was no fire brigade such as we have today. Men from the Navy used gunpowder to blow up houses in the path of the fire to halt its spread!"
"Goodness me, Choose a name! Drastic, or what? Did it work?" queried Kaplan.
"It sort of worked—eventually! But it took some days, during which time a large part of London had been destroyed."
Campfire At Night
The earthy, musky scent, the crackle, and pop as gas is released from the wood, the warmth and soft light emitted by the dancing flames, this is a campfire, a welcoming place to relax and tell stories when the adventures of the day spent outdoors are done.

@ Remains Of The Light
"I think there'll be quite a few tired paws, wings and flippers when we get back to the tour bus," said Moriarty, after he and Kaplan had spent some time exploring another wing of the art gallery to its end.
"Is there a gift shop after this?" enquired Kaplan. "The thought of that generally keeps me going!"

Wispy trails are all that remain when the candle is extinguished. The smoke swirls and curls and heads ever upward on currents of air until even the smoke has vanished.

@ A Little Fern Seeks The Sun
"Depending on their strength, winds can be known as a breeze, gale, storm or hurricane. Wind is caused by differences in air pressure. Air rushes from high pressure areas to lower ones," remarked Kaplan.
"Mm-hmm?" responded Flatts.

Kaplan and Finley shook paws, said “How do you do?” and posed for a souvenir photo. “Why am I always on the left?” grumbled Kaplan. “Let’s change sides.”
“No,” said Finley. “This is my best side.”

Light chases away the darkness and reveals what our imagination would make into horror as nothing more than a jacket over a chair. Light reveals dangers, so don't wander into that room without light, or you may encounter the legendary lego trap and your feet will forever feel betrayed.

"The Great Fire of 1666 started in London, on Pudding Lane, in a baker's shop. The baker believed he had put the fire out but in the middle of the night the fire grew and his house was in flames. Pudding Lane is still there today. If you want to visit it, Monument is the nearest tube station. The place where the fire started is also marked by a monument topped by a fiery gold ornament," said Kaplan.
"It makes it sound like it's the only monument in London, Kaplan!" chuckled Spot.
