Wally is questing! Episode 1/25

Tom, the bear, woke with a yawn, jumped out of bed, and looked out the window.

“Hooray! It is Egg Day, and what a beautiful day for it. Time to get moving and find those eggs.”

Tom grabbed an apple to eat as he raced out the door…and stopped in his tracks. His neighbour Wally was standing at the door with his paw raised.

“Oh, hey Wally, what are you doing here.”

Wally said, “Going egg hunting with you, of course. It looks like The Bunny has been busy, look at the eggs everywhere.”

Wally is questing! Episode 2/25

Tom and Wally picked up all the eggs they could see and put them in a basket Wally had thoughtfully brought along.

“Let’s keep walking and see how many eggs we can gather.” said Wally

As Tom was looking under a tree for an egg, bonk, something fell on his head.

“Ow! That hurt; what was that?”

It was an egg; a strange-looking egg. Purple, not decorated, and definitely not something a chicken would lay or The Bunny would hide—at least Tom did not think so. Tom showed it to Wally, asking what they thought. Wally Turned the egg this way and that and tried to open it.

“It won’t open, it looks like it should, but it won’t. Let’s forget about it for now and keep gathering real eggs.”

Wally is questing! Episode 3/25

Tom and Wally continued to find eggs; eggs painted to look like animals, eggs painted with pretty designs, and eggs that looked like they belonged in an art museum, so fine was the decorating.

“Look at that lovely little house. Do you think it could belong to The Bunny?”

Tom was not sure.

“It could; maybe we can come back later and visit.”

Wally is questing! Episode 4/25

“I have an idea. Let’s play a game. Do you know I Spy?” Wally asked Tom.

“Sure, I do,” said Tom. Great idea.”

Tom continued to twist the strange egg that had dropped on his head, but nothing happened.

Wally is questing! Episode 5/25

Tom went first.

“I spy with my little eye, something that begins with S.”

“Snow!” said Wally.

“Wait, what? Snow, oh my gosh, it is snowing, when…how. No, it is not snow.”

“Then, is it a snake?”

“Not snake.”

“I know, spotted dog, and see it is singing to an egg.”

“Well done Wally. Your turn.”

Wally is questing! Episode 6/25

Wally thought and then said, “I spy with my little eye something that beings with F.”

“Fancy gift.” guessed Tom.

“No.”

“Fraidy cat?”

“Sorry, not correct, and that is Scaredy Cat.”

“How about a fried egg?”

“Fried egg? Oh, the badger is holding breakfast. No, good guess, though.”

“Then is it, Fire Magic Egg?”

“Ding, ding, winner. This is fun.”

Wally is questing! Episode 7/25

Yay! My turn," said Tom. “I spy with my little eye something that begins with M.”

Wally looked around and pointed, “Moon?”

Tom looked up at the sky.” But it is morning, what is the moon doing there? Sorry, it is not moon, and that moon should not be there; something odd is going on.”

Wally guessed again, “Mouse?”

“Nice one, that was correct.”

Wally is questing! Episode 8/25

“I spy with my little eye something that begins with L.” Wally smiled.

“Lettuce?” Tom pointed at the garden.

“Nope, and how did we suddenly appear near a garden.” From somewhere, Wally thought they heard a giggle.

“Then what about the lion.”

“Wait, what about Llama?”

“Llama is indeed the right answer. But, Tom, don’t you feel a bit strange? We have seen it go from morning to night. There are suddenly all these animals around and odd things. What could be happening, and did you hear that giggle a while ago?” Wally looked questioningly at Tom. “We should sit for a few minutes and think about this.”

Wally is questing! Episode 9/25

“Whew! This is turning out to be quite the mysterious egg-hunting adventure. This all started when this egg hit me on the head.” Tom held up the strange egg that would not open. It feels warm, and I keep thinking I feel it moving a bit, just a tiny wiggle, now and then.”

“Do you think that whatever is inside is causing all this? Wally asked.

“I don’t know, and if we can’t get it open, we may never know. I am getting hungry too. We should go get some food at the restaurant in town, and then we can continue with our game and hunting eggs and see what other mysteries will happen."

Wally is questing! Episode 10/25

Wally and Tom walked to their favourite restaurant in town and grabbed a seat by the widow. Tom placed the strange egg on the table and tapped it with a claw.

“If you are inside, whoever you are, please let us open the egg. We want to meet you.”

There was no answer, but Wally was sure they saw the egg wiggle back and forth just a bit.

Tom and Wally ate pancakes and eggs. Nothing odd had happened while they were in the restaurant.

“Time to head on out and collect more eggs,” said Tom.

Wally is questing! Episode 11/25

“Ok, my turn. I spy with my little eye something that begins with A.” Tom stated.

Wally looked around, whispering, “We appear to be on a pirate ship. I guess, Axolotl.”

“Oh, I like those,” said Tom, “but not the correct answer.”

“How about apple?”

“Yes, apple is correct.”

Wally is questing! Episode 12/25

“I spy with my little eye something that begins with C,” said Wally.

“Oh, we are in a cave. Ok, how about cave then.”

“Good guess, but wrong answer.”

“Well,” muttered Tom looking around, “Then I guess coyote.”

“Yes, that is what I was thinking about.” Wally laughed, “There were quite a few things beginning with C in this cave.”

Wally is questing! Episode 13/25

Tom started singing in a low voice, “Walking along collecting eggs, feeling like I am in a dream.” He stopped and looked at Wally.

“Say Wally, do you feel like whatever is happening is a game? Whatever is in this egg is playing tricks on us?”

Wally looked thoughtful, “You think there is something or someone in this egg, and they are making all this happen?”

“Well, I do," said Tom, "Nothing like this happened before getting hit on the head by this egg, and it was not the hit on the head because you are experiencing this too, and you did not get hit on the head. I wonder if we should go see someone, see if anyone can help us open this egg. Maybe the science teacher at the school.”

Wally is questing! Episode 14/25

Wally and Tom arrived at the school. Bikes were lined up outside, and some students were just now arriving at the school; they must have late classes. There were even some eggs outside, so Wally collected them.

“Let’s head inside and see if we can find the science teacher.”

Wally is questing! Episode 15/25

They found the teacher and asked if he could help them with the odd egg.

“Hmm, what have we here? It looks like an ordinary toy egg. And you say you cannot open it. Strange things happen when you are playing the I Spy Game. I see I see. Let me have a few moments.”

The teacher put some liquid on the egg. He poked, prodded, and pondered the egg. He measured and manipulated the egg.

“As you can see, I have subjected this egg to every test I can do. My conclusion is; this egg is a trick, or it is something magical. You will have to find someone skilled in magic or wait a while longer to see if anything else happens.”

Wally is questing! Episode 16/25

Wally and Tom left the school after thanking the teacher.

“I don’t know anyone who is skilled in magic, do you?” Tom asked Wally.

“Not off hand, unless we want to go to the forest and see if that house really belonged to The Bunny.”

Wally is questing! Episode 17/25

“My turn I think,” said Tom, “I spy with my little eye something beginning with B.”

“B…hmm, I think it is a bat.”

“Right first try, well done.”

Wally is questing! Episode 18/25

“Are we getting closer to the little cute house?” Wally asked.

“I think so, responded Tom, “But with the way things keep changing as we play the game it is hard to be sure. We will play a few more times and keep collecting any eggs we see and then we can check if were are near that house.”

Wally is questing! Episode 19/25

“I spy with my little eye something beginning with Y,” Wally stated.

“Oh, Y, that might be a hard one. I think it is that Yeti.”

“Yetil, oh my goodness. No not the Yeti.”

“Then I think it must be the letter Y that the cat is holding.”

“Yes, that is correct.”

Wally is questing! Episode 20/25

Tom said, “This will be the last game, ok, ready. I spy with my little eye something that begins with D.”

Wally looked around carefully, there were many things that began with the letter D, including a dragon. I think it is the donut.”

“Yes, donut it is. That’s it all done with games. Now to find that house.”

Wally is questing! Episode 21/25

“This area is looking familiar,” said Tom.

Wally and Tom walked a little further; the eggs they were finding were increasing.

“It has to be very close; see all the eggs. There is something about this area. I think we will find our answer to this odd egg.”

Wally is questing! Episode 22/25

Here you are, at long last. Where have you been, you naughty egg?”

Wally and Tom looked at each other.

“You know this egg? said Tom

“I do indeed know this egg, this naughty, naughty egg. Playing tricks, playing games, and always trying to cause mischief. Thank goodness you found my house and brought that egg back.”

Wally and Tom did not know what to say, but before they even had a chance to think of anything to say…

Wally is questing! Episode 23/25

The egg cracked open and landed on the ground. Before them stood a purple bunny, looking rather happy and shy, at the same time.

“Teehee, I can’t resist playing games, and when you came along under that tree, I just had to join you. It was so much fun. I hope we can do it again.”

And with that, the purple bunny gave a wave and scampered off.

“Oh no! said The Bunny, “Should I chase after that naughty bunny or wait until it gets tired and comes home.”

Wally is questing! Episode 24/25

The Bunny handed something to Tom.

“This was in the odd egg as well. Sometimes rare eggs get painted and that purple naughty bunny likes to take them when they go to hide in the odd egg. It can be a memento of your unexpected adventure.”

The Bunny had given Tom a lovely egg painted with a scene of one of his favourite cities, Paris.

Wally is questing! Episode 25/25

The Bunny had gone back into the house.

Tom walked up to Wally, “Here, I have a special egg for you too. I guess this is the end of our egg hunting and our adventure. I hope you had as much fun as I did, even if it was bewildering at times. Maybe, as that purple bunny said, we can do it again sometime.”
