In this part of the travel game, the pets delve into Bohemian culture in the area of the city that draws painters, writers, musicians, sculptors and others who express themselves through art. Whether the pets spend time discussing philosophy in one of the many quaint bars or observing the creation of a masterpiece in a tiny, paint splattered studio apartment, or viewing huge graffiti pictures, they will wind up their visit with a trip to some underground cellars before ending the day with the opportunity to purchase some flowers or an elaborately decorated ridotto mask!

Blue Fire bent down to pick up a carelessly discarded sweetie wrapper and made to put it in the bin. "Be careful, Blue Fire!" cried out Mia hiding a grin. "That's probably part of someone's art installation."
"Oh tosh, Mia. It's a sweet wrapper."
Mia looked amused. "A surprising number of entire art exhibitions are thrown away by the cleaners assuming they're rubbish, you know."

Villi and Mia paused to watch a pavement artist painting the portrait of one of their fellow-travellers. “Hi, Foxy!” called out Mia excitedly.
Startled, the artist dropped his loaded brush on the ground, sending drops of paint flying in Villi and Mia's direction!

Wooden barrels made by skilled artisans and their perfect seasoning with Sherry wines creates a container without equal. In Spanish a barrel is called a “tonel” and the weight of a full barrel is 1 ton. It is the same in English where the origin of the word “ton” is “tun” a wooden wine vessel. A tonelada referred to the space needed for a tonel of liquid in a ship.

Fidelis looked round eagerly. "Mia, I'll roll that barrel over here and we can both stand on it and take a selfie with this arty background behind us."
Mia was dubious. "That barrel top might break under our combined weight and plunge us into a vat of sherry! Why don't we stand on those stairs instead?"
Fidelis could be heard muttering that they could drink their way out, but headed towards the steps.

These small windows are a delightful mix of ornate metal decoration contrasting with the smooth curves of the earth tone frames, all set off by the duck egg blue of the walls. This soft greenish blue stems from the first discovery of a blue pigment in the 18th century, which was then lightened with white.

“No, it's just these cobblestones are a little difficult to navigate after a time!" said Kitty Boo.

"I think there'll be quite a few tired paws, wings and flippers when we get back to the tour bus," said pinkguick, after she and Mia had spent some time exploring another long, narrow alleyway to its end. "Is there a gift shop at the end? The thought of that generally keeps me going."

In many cases this is positive, since graffiti art can turn dull monotone buildings and bare walls into interesting and eye-catching exhibitions of the imagination. High-quality graffiti contained within a particular area can raise that neighbourhood's profile as an arts scene. In time, other artists flock there, and the cultural value of the area is increased. This can in the long-term aid the local economy, as tourists head to the area to look at the graffiti, and locally-run tours pop up to show visitors around.

This example has the feel of industrial architecture about it, with its regular rectangular glass panes and muted colours but is nonetheless beautiful.
