Tangelo and Millicent are excited to find out what is in store for them in the Autumn Experience! As they enter, they each receive a free map! It reads:
Fall Fairground South
Roll up! Roll up! After sunset the fairground is transformed into a glittering arena of swirling lights, with a backdrop of squawks, yelps and howls from pets clinging on for dear life to the scary rollercoaster and whirling round on the fluorescently lit big wheel! The best view is of course from the top, so c'mon, everypet, and have the experience of your life! For pets preferring a gentler ride, hold on tightly to the reins while our carousel horses look after you on a circular journey under a blue starry canopy. Then it's time to indulge in candy, popcorn, gingerbread and pumpkin pie made from the fall harvest! Hopefully everypet will have enough silver moles left to buy a magnificent helium balloon to take home ...

Tangelo encountered Tiana at the fairground. “Have you been on this ride yet, Tiana?” asked Tangelo. “It’s quite an experience!”

“Hello again, Tangelo!” called Atom. “Do you want to join me on this ride?”
“You bet—let me just finish my ice cream!” Atom waited while Tangelo had the last lick of ice cream and munched the last inch of cornet, then they excitedly queued up for the ride!

Tangelo came up to the snackbar where the vendor was just handing over a very large portion to Sasha. "Gosh, Sasha, you're like those ravenous guinea pigs in Meadowlands! I'd never seen animals eating with such diligence before!"

Doctor Hoo, just about to board the next ride, paused and looked around the fairground. "I was just wondering if they had one of those nice, gentle rides where you sit in, you know, giant teacups," she said wistfully. Tangelo grinned. "C'mon, Doctor Hoo, this ride should be on your bucket list! Not that you're going to kick the bucket for many years yet!"

Ferris wheels are named after George W. Ferris, a US engineer from Pittsburgh, who built the first one for the World Expo in Chicago in 1893. Expo visitors found unexpected excitement and novelty. Not only the Ferris wheel but the amazing new wonder that ran it—electricity—were presented for the first time in America.

“Hi, Tangelo!” called out fancy. “Are you going to join me in having a tasty snack before we go on the other rides?” Tangelo ordered his own portion, and fancy passed a paper serviette to him.

Tangelo was listening enraptured to the music emerging from the nearby carousel. “My Mum used to sing this, Jeff!” he exclaimed excitedly. "Music allures, graceful and sweet, bidding us dance, airy and fleet—” he waltzed in a ragged circle and accidentally bumped into the carnival novelties stand. “Ooh! I’ll buy one of those while I'm here, Jeff!” he said.

Helium (from Greek Helios - 'Sun') is a chemical element, symbol He and atomic no. 2. It is a colorless, odorless, tasteless, non-toxic, inert, monatomic gas, the first in the noble gas group. Helium is the second lightest and second most abundant element in the observable universe. Its use in filling balloons for our delight is a very minor one, but one we love!
