@ Canopy of Maple Leaves
Quackers and paws are excited to find out what is in store for them in the Autumn Experience! As they enter, they each receive a free map! It reads:
Autumn in Green
Harvest-time in the countryside—what better time can there be? On this part of the tour, pets will start in a shady wood and have a picnic by an old country barn before continuing. They will discover an open air market of farmers' produce and be able to choose from the displayed apples, grapes, coffee beans, strawberries and chillies before viewing the coffee berries still growing. There are views of cornfields and flowers before finishing with a stroll along the river to admire the autumnal foliage.

As you stroll into this small village and begin to look around, don't forget to look up or you might miss the beautiful fall leaves overhead!

@ Path Leading to a Special Place
Bunnibuns nearly stumbled over Quackers, who was lying full length on the grass. “I was wishing I’d brought my watercolours,” said Quackers. “This just cries out to be painted!”

You know that this autumn realm is going to be a special stop as the path gently leads you by a rustic fence and into a sun-dappled wooded area.

@ Weathered Barn
Quackers and Midnight were entranced at reaching this stopping place and eagerly posed for a picture!

This autumn village is rich with history as you see the various wooden structures hand-built with time and effort, each board no doubt having a story to tell.

@ Sparkling Dew Drops
Quackers and Paradiddle shook paws, said “How do you do?” and posed for a souvenir photo. “Why am I always on the left?” grumbled Quackers. “Let’s change sides.”
“No,” said Paradiddle. “This is my best side.”

This autumn realm lays at the bottom of several hillsides, causing its grasses to still have dew on them even at noon, as you (and your shoes) soon discovered upon your arrival.

@ Prairie Grass Before the Woods
Quackers opened his rucksack to change his hat. PingPing could see Quackers had a baseball cap, a sombrero, a beret, a straw boater, a cricket cap, a sou'wester, a large, floppy sunhat and a pith helmet!
“Did you bring a mortarboard too?” PingPing asked Quackers.
Prairie Grass Before the Woods
As you enter the village, you recall the beautiful prairie grass that preceded the woods, as each blade of grass, gently swaying back and forth with the breeze, began to melt the stress off your shoulders.

@ Flourishing Florist
"I think I'll take a cutting of the plant in that tub over there," said Quackers. The label says it's 'vigorous' and 'fearless'."
Mekmek sniffed. "That's gardeners' talk for 'an invasive species that will take over your entire garden if permitted'!"

At the end of the fence and treeline leading into the village, you encounter the local florist and the special roses being cultivated. This is perfect as it allows you to purchase a rose to take to your host for the evening!

@ Bouquet of Roses
"This is a glorious specimen, Amanda", observed Quackers. "What a shame that in a month or so all this colour will be gone!"
"You know the best way to get colour in your garden all year, Quackers?" said Amanda. "Buy a garden gnome!"

In fact, these roses are so special that you decide to take an arrangement with you to your host's home!

@ Strawberry Patch
Quackers was excited by seeing all the different harvest produce. “I’m going to apply for an allotment and start growing my own food!” he announced to POPPE, when they met and shook paws.

As you continue into the village you see behind some of the market stalls and produce wagons a strawberry patch with just ripened and delicious strawberries ready for the picking!

@ An Abundance of Chili Peppers
Choose a name greeted Quackers cheerily, recommending he expended some silver moles on the fresh harvest food before them.

One produce cart that you didn't expect to see was an overflowing cart of a variety of chili peppers, something that the locals love to munch on as an afternoon snack, as well as use in their favorite recipes.

Inspired by the sunny day, Snipsnap said, “Wouldn't it be fun to work on the harvest?”
Quackers took a more pragmatic view. “You’d have to be up before dawn every day and work for 12 hours practically non-stop!”

“I’m going to ask if I can take a cutting of this,” Foxie said to Quackers. “This would look just fine in a half barrel in my front garden!”

One market stall sells unique flowers, such as the Chinese lantern, the orange leaves of which form a protective cover for the plant's simple white flowers and poisonous fruit (when unripened - but not very tasty even when ripe!), which makes the orange leaves the real attention-grabber!

ScaryHairy and Quackers counted out their silver moles and bought some of the harvest food. “That one wins first prize for me!” declared ScaryHairy.

Speaking of mornings, you'll find a market stall in this village that carries a neat combination of both red and green coffee berries, another favorite morning snack with the local pets, or travelers passing through, like you!

Sugar and Quackers, after shaking paws, admired the crop of harvest produce in front of them. “I didn’t know it looked like that just after harvest,” said Quackers. “I’ve only seen it in the shops!”

While the red and green coffee berries sound very appealing, you may just want a regular cup of coffee, made with the finest of beans. The beans are freshly ground for your specific order, so you know that it's going to be fresh and good!

“Isn’t this amazing, Orpheus?” declared Quackers. “I’m seeing so many flowers and shrubs that I’ve never seen before!”

Upon arriving at your night's lodgings, you present the arrangement of roses to your hosts, thanking them for their hospitality. A tradition in this autumn realm is to present any lodgers with a rose as well - so you find it very enjoyable to have the flower's wonderful fragrance to be in your room too!

@ Double Rainbow Dream
“I’ve written a postcard to Mrs Eucalyptus about this amazing Autumn Experience!” said Quackers. “She’ll wish she were here! Where’s the nearest postbox?”
Twiggy shielded her eyes and rotated 360°, elaborately scanning the horizon. “I don’t know how it comes about, but they appear not to have thought to provide a postbox here, Quackers. How remiss of them!” Seeing Quackers’s ears beginning to droop, Twiggy added, “Don’t worry, you can post your card after this leg of the Experience!”

As you lay your head down for a good night's rest, you find yourself dreaming of the double rainbow you saw as you approached the outlying prairie. It made you feel like you were in for a double blessing once you came into the village.

@ Misty Yellow Flowers
“My uncle grows these in his back garden,” observed Quackers.
“Wow! He must surely have green fingers!” replied Tommy.

The next morning after breakfast, you begin to head out for the next autumn realm and are blessed with seeing soft, small yellow flowers opening to the sun's rays while a very faint mist begins to lift.

@ The Village Pond
Quackers thought the scenery at this new stop was lovely and asked Gilda if it would be possible to set up camp for the night!

As you begin to make your way out of the village and back towards the woods, you take the time to stop by the village pond with its quiet waters and reflections of the morning's sunrise. You even take a moment to skip a stone or two!

@ Reflection of Fall Colors
“I could stay here forever, Quackers,” said Milagros. “This is an amazing place!”
“Well, you never know what lies ahead, Milagros. I wouldn't be surprised if the next stop is even better!” said Quackers.

A little further along the shore and you are blessed with the fall colors that greeted you the day before, only this time it is a blessing that's doubled as these colorful trees are mirrored upon the still waters of the village pond.

@ Sunlit Woods
Fanny shook paws with Quackers and was just enjoying the view when she was distracted by loud rustling as Quackers unfolded a very lengthy Autumn Experience itinerary, in the course of which he succeeded in knocking Fanny’s hat off. “Put that away, do!” snapped Fanny. “I’m about to take a photo of this amazing scene—the picture will be of your map if you don’t fold it up pronto!”

As the sun continues to rise, it lends its light upon the many trees that make up the wooded border of this autumn realm. You are glad for the day you had in the quiet village, but are excited for the new possibilities that lay beyond the woods!

@ Prairie Grass Awaits
Quackers and Violet Flame shook paws, then looked around in awe, wishing they hadn’t already eaten their lunch! This was the most perfect place for a picnic!

@ Flowers Dripping with Morning Dew
"How on earth do you identify what this is from the thousands of things it could be?" asked Bolly.
"Well," said Quackers, "you go through a checklist. Like what sort of leaves does it have, how are they arranged on the stem, do they have stalks, what's its habitat; that kind of thing. I'll lend you a book when we get home."

As you reach the end of the prairie grass, you again experience the sparkling dew of the morning mist as it lingers on some of the realms' outer flowers. It has been a good journey!!

Quackers is enjoying the Autumn Experience when piper comes along. "Look! A special prize!" says piper. Quackers looks down and sees something valuable. piper generously lets Quackers keep it!
