Anaplasma and Bella are excited to find out what is in store for them in the Autumn Experience! As they enter, they each receive a free map! It reads:
Fall Fairground North
All the fun of the fair is here to provide your pet with entertainment and thrills, from waterslide to big wheel. And has your pet a strong enough stomach for a death-defying rollercoaster ride? To help restore your pet's equilibrium after all the excitements of the fairground rides, there are stalls selling hot potato snacks, popcorn, toffee apples, candy and delicious cakes and other yummy delights made from the autumn harvest produce! We hope everypet will leave clutching at least one of the fun carnival novelties!

“The trouble with eating this, Lily,” observed Anaplasma, “is that it’s very moreish. You really don’t want to stop at one portion!”

@ Gingerbread Fairings
“Hi, Anaplasma!” called out NightGhost. “Are you going to join me in having a tasty snack before we go on the other rides?” Anaplasma ordered its own portion, and NightGhost passed a paper serviette to them.

Fairings is the traditional name for edible souvenirs sold at fairs throughout England. These ginger fairings became associated with Cornish fairs and are still popular in the region.

“That should keep me going till I get home tonight,” said Choose a name Thisisme to Anaplasma, while crumpling her used food container and placing it carefully in a litter bin.

@ Bejewelled Gingerbread
"Would you like a fork with that, Anaplasma?" asked Angel, as their respective servings of food were placed on the counter in front of them.
"No, that's fine, thank you, Angel! I'm just going to dive in!" (which, in a manner of speaking, it then did).

“Hi, Jake!” called out Anaplasma. “I’ll be having some of that too, only I’m going to have at least two goes on every ride first!

Anaplasma was listening enraptured to the music emerging from the nearby carousel. “My Mum used to sing this, Pingu!” he exclaimed excitedly. "Music allures, graceful and sweet, bidding us dance, airy and fleet—” he waltzed in a ragged circle and accidentally bumped into the carnival novelties stand. “Ooh! I’ll buy one of those while I'm here, Pingu!” he said.

“Hey, dragolia!” called out Anaplasma, as they shook paws. “This is quite a change from Snow Beach, isn’t it? I thought I’d got frostbite there! Here, have some of this yummy snack.”

Drago, just about to board the next ride, paused and looked around the fairground. "I was just wondering if they had one of those nice, gentle rides where you sit in, you know, giant teacups," he said wistfully. Anaplasma grinned. "C'mon, Drago, this ride should be on your bucket list! Not that you're going to kick the bucket for many years yet!"

Whilst other pets were staggering dizzily off the ride, Kono and Anaplasma decided to go round again!

“Wheeeee-eeeee-eeeee!” screamed Miss Mousse and Anaplasma in unison as they descended, very rapidly indeed, from the highest point of the ride!

“Why is that ride so fast, and why has it got all those loopy bits, Anaplasma?” asked Sheba.
“To make it exciting!” said Anaplasma. “They make it accelerate by spinning the route in a circle!”

The world's oldest roller coasters descended from specially constructed hills of snow in the gardens of palaces around the Russian capital, St Petersburg, in the 18th century. The slides were built to a height of between 70 ft - 80 ft (21-24 m), had a 50 degree drop. These slides became popular with the Russian upper class."Russian mountains" remains the term for roller coasters in many languages, such as Spanish (la montaña rusa), Italian (montagne russe), and French (les montagnes russes). Ironically, the Russian term for roller coaster, "amerikanskie gorki", translates literally as "American mountains."

As sunset falls, you enjoy the ever-changing view as you chug a little further upwards and then pause as each pod takes on its precious cargo of pets eager to enjoy the ride. Then when all the pods are full, the wheel starts to turn, building up speed!
