Pinky and Sabrina were entranced at reaching this stopping place and eagerly posed for a picture standing on either side of the attractive creature they had just met!

Pinky and Solo shook paws and said “How do you do?” to the next creature who had come to meet them, and posed for a souvenir photo. “Why am I always on the left?” grumbled Pinky. “Let’s change sides.” “No,” said Solo. “This side shows my best side.”

"Wasn’t it worth coming all this way, Pinky," said Zoe, "for this experience alone?" Pinky, admiring the creature at the centre of the scene they were now in, heartily agreed!

While Pinky paused to drink in the view, Marty Mole started scrabbling in his rucksack for his portable, foldable camping chair. “What are you doing with that, Marty Mole?” asked Pinky. “We’ll need to get going in a minute or we’ll be left behind!”

Snowy white with a splash of orange for a beak and legs these geese can truly sneak up on you on a winter day. At least they do not have quite the same reputation as their Canadian counterparts *wink wink*

Pinky and Draco had shaken paws and were now introducing themselves to the next critter who had come to meet them on this leg of the quest, who was eager to make friends and to show off a carefully tidied natural habitat!

One of the friendliest birds of the Canadian winter. Many children have memories of standing outside with arms extended and feed in hand awaiting a bird to land and feed.

@ Polar Bear Ridge
“I’ve written a postcard to my aunty to tell her about our amazing safari!” said Pinky. “She’ll wish she was here! Where’s the nearest postbox?” merlin shielded his eyes and rotated 360°, elaborately scanning the horizon. “I don’t think they’ve thought to provide a postbox here, Pinky. How remiss of them!” Seeing Pinky’s ears beginning to droop, merlin added, “Don’t worry, you can post your card after this leg of the safari.”

The kings of the north reside here. While they appear large and overbearing they truly can be friendly and will invite you in for halibut.

“Shall we take a selfie?” Pinky asked Cassiopeia as they drank in the scenery and admired their new friend next to them.

In the peaceful morning you can barely see their outline in the mists coming over the lake. Listen carefully and you can hear their calls to one another as they gracefully glide across the water.

The penguins of the northern hemisphere! Ok, not quite but adorable nonetheless. These critters can even be found roaming through town when they are not on the hillsides.

nicki was distracted by the sounds of loud rustling as Pinky unfolded a very large tourist map, in the course of which she succeeded in knocking nicki’s hat off. “Put that away, do!” snapped nicki. “We’re about to pose with this amazing creature—the picture will be of your map if you don’t fold it up pronto!”

Grouped together you never know what sort of mischief these birds will get into. Are they preparing to come into town? Maybe they are planning to fly back to sea. One never knows.

“Ooh, that’s a scary looking creature!” whispered Drozan. “It’s bigger than me! I’ll stay here and wait for you to come back.” “C’mon, Drozan, it’ll be fine—it’s not so very big; it's a trick of perspective, and anyway, it’s looking forward to meeting us!” said Pinky.

This lil fella appears grumpy as he is often mistaken for a seal. He really would like to wear a sign saying I am not a seal but has thus far resisted. So please be kind when entering the beach here and do not upset the natives. They are quite friendly.

Pinky opened her rucksack to change her hat. Tickety-Boo could see Pinky had a large, floppy sunhat, a balaclava, a rain hat, a woolly bobble hat, a beanie, a deerstalker hat and a swimming cap! “Did you bring a fez too?” Tickety-Boo asked Pinky.

Hold onto your rocks! These penguins are notorious rock thieves. They sneak up on one another’s nests and steal pebbles to better their own nest. It appears these two penguins may be conspiring together. So hold onto your goods.

With the grace of a ballerina and the precision of a swordsman the betta fish darts and swims around with skilled choreography. Its fins follow it like an elegant ball gown circling a dancer darting here and there. A thrill to observe.

At the very depths of the ocean you have now reached Octopus Ridge. While it may appear a little scary at first we promise you will find things to be quite welcoming here. You never know what you will discover at great ocean depths.

It is ok. You can breathe. We just recommend staying in the middle of our shark cage here while we are at depth. Going close to the edge near the bars may be a little risky and ill advised. But isn’t that shark ever so graceful swimming around and stalking us?

“What an amazing creature!” exclaimed Pinky. Dorlinger agreed with Pinky. “I’m seeing so many animals, birds and insects that I’ve never seen before!”

Swimming and lazing around in the tropical waters one may be lucky to catch sight of these beauties floating by. Amidst the corals their colours almost glow as if illuminated by black light. Certainly a rare treat for anyone to see.

Snap on your scuba gear and go for a swim among these gentle giants. They are more likely that other whales to breech so do take care when in the water. If you aren’t so brave perhaps a Zodiac tour is more your speed.

Pinky has had a wonderful day, and has met lots of animals for the very first time, but now it is time for Pinky to go back to your page and relax.

Your pet will need to wrap up warmly and perhaps don snowshoes for this part of the quest! The journey starts in beautiful snowy scenes where some quite rare animals and birds are waiting to welcome your pet to their wintry world. The quest continues to cliffs, then rocky and sandy seashores and culminates in your pet sailing on the sea to view the watery world and its inhabitants! The octopus has promised to put in an appearance, and the shark has been practising his fiercest, most glary expression, but that’s to conceal his heart of gold and cuddly disposition! Bon voyage!
