This rocky bay provides the perfect place for anypet to rest, play with the numerous pebbles and watch the changing patterns of sunlight on the stone outcrops and distant peaks, or perhaps to dip a cautious paw into the unceasing sea waves running in and back out.

Harli Hopsi had to travel on alone, as Rexina declared she had found her nirvana, and had no intention of moving on!

Anypet will enjoy exploring the sand dunes with their sharply pointed grey-green leaves and large spikes of creamy-yellow flowers of marram grass in the summer, the backdrop to a sandy beach and the sea.

Of all the pets Harli Hopsi might have met here, Oberon was the last she expected. But what a great view!

This beautiful little bay is irresistible to pets who can’t wait to scamper or flap over the golden sand to get to the top of the stony peninsula and gaze far out to the horizon over the sea.

Harli Hopsi and Mystery were so busy gazing at the scenery they almost forgot to finish shaking paws before changeover!

A feat of engineering that certainly stands out in the countryside. It’s a place to stop and dream of where the trains thundering past will be going!

@ Old Castle Place
While Harli Hopsi was whistling through her teeth as they ambled through another breathtaking scene, blue sunshine was secretly wishing she had packed ear plugs, or gaffer tape for Harli Hopsi's mug!

Nopet can resist clambering or flying to the top of this ancient look-out point over the undulating countryside to shout, “I’m the King of the Castle!”

Harli Hopsi was surprised to meet Fury here! But they were both delighted to find plenty of travel tokens!

Harli Hopsi and Jake pool their small change, hoping to buy some small souvenirs to remind them of this place!

As birds fly home to roost and busy pets retire for the night, the West Pasture in Aegis becomes darker and quiet in the setting sun, waiting for the first stirrings from nocturnal pets who are active during the night.

Of all the pets Harli Hopsi might have met here, Basil was the last she expected. But what a great view!

On Sunday afternoons, many pets take an excursion in the formal gardens, which display the Dutch influence of bright tulips making a fine splash of colour against the immaculate lawn.

@ Island: Aegis
Harli Hopsi finally makes it back to the landing stage, where Jewels is also about to embark and go home. What an adventure it has been! Harli Hopsi pockets a map of Aegis as a momento. The guidebook says:

When their vessel carefully manoeuvres past the rocks to reach the landing stage, the pets can jump out and explore this delightful little island. There are beautiful, relaxing sandy beaches, rocky hills to climb, a viaduct and old castle ruin to explore, green pastures to take a picnic hamper, woods and forests to ramble in, rivers to jump over, apples to pick and there are flowers galore!
