"One reason for the Danes' happiness is the importance of hygge, the Danish way of enjoying quality time with friends and family. It can be many things, such as candle-lit dinners, wine, relaxed nights in. It's hard to explain," said Ophelia ♡.
"Well, we certainly came across it this time last year in the Huskies, Hijinks and Hygge experience! We had some very cosy chats with all the pets over hot chocolate by the fire every evening in our accommodation!" replied Flutter.

The old city has been renovated from the old red light district sailors visited and flop houses! Now travelers can listen to music on the sidewalks and enjoy cold ale on a summer day. Different styles and cultures of fare for those wanting to try new cuisines are available as well.

"It says here that Aarhus is reputed to be Denmark’s happiest city and one can see why on a city break to Aarhus. First of all, it is small, attractive and easy to get around. It’s close to beaches and forests. Plus it’s packed full of cultural events and attractions such as the ARoS Art Museum and the cultural center DOKK1," said Ophelia ♡.

"Oh, wow, Aki! In Copenhagen we'll be going to a bright pink café called Unicorns & Rainbows! It serves ice cream sprinkled with edible flowers and crumbled meringue, and has its very own pink unicorn on the wall. It says it's the perfect food for unicorns and unicorn hunters alike!"

Built in 1906 on the West Coast of Jutland, standing in the stairwell of this historical Light House makes one think they are inside a Nautilus shell. The starkness of blue and white draws the eye upward to the top, but do your paws have the stamina to take it all the way to to the apex?

Did you struggle having to study Hamlet at school? Well, just 45 minutes by train from Copenhagen is a town that will make Elsinore Castle a reality. Helsingør (alternative name Elsinore) is a port in eastern Denmark. Its 15th-century Castle Kronborg provided the setting for Shakespeare’s famous tragedy. The nearby Maritime Museum of Denmark illustrates 600 years of Danish seafaring history.

What do you mean, unicorns don’t exist? Don’t say that to us in Denmark. Our land of everyday wonder has unicorns to spot in the most unlikely places, from street corners to throne rooms, and it’s one of the best countries in the world for unicorn hunting, even if we do say so ourselves.

Lush Green, Faroe Islands
The vibrant green of spring and summer in the Faroe Islands. All the islands are covered by this lush green grass in spring and summer, with the arrival of fall the grass turns into a carpet of brown. A small stream heads under a culvert and goes on its way to the ocean.

East Island, the second largest of the Faroe Islands and another very important bird area. You may recognize this from the James Bond movie No Time To Die, which was filmed starting in 2018. Many locations were used around the Faroe Islands for the movie.

Volcanic eruptions over millions of years have built up the Faroe Islands. There are three layers of basalt, a dark grey igneous rock. The formations of basalt are exposed everywhere on the islands and anyone interested in geology is sure to want to pay a visit.

"Today's trivia question, Enty! What is special about the Danish flag?" asked Ophelia ♡.
Enty considered this. "Flag of Denmark. White cross on a red field. You know, when I can't sleep, I list in my head all the national flags in the world that use red and white only—there's about twenty of them, you know. Then I go on to blue and white—I'm digressing. I don't know; what's the answer?"
"The Danish flag, the Dannebrog remains the oldest state flag in the world still in use by an independent nation. It has been recognised as in use from 1219," replied Ophelia ♡.
Village, Faroe Islands
Another fantastic landscape was also used in the Bond film, No Time To Die. When you see stunning scenes like this it is no wonder this location was chosen. The Faroe Islands are made up of 18 major islands and 779 smaller islands, islets and skerries. A skerry is a rock island too small for humans to live on but often used by seabirds as nesting sites.

A highly visible red boat rests on one of the many shores in the Faroe Islands. It could belong to a fisherperson or just a quick way to get around instead of travelling overland. Fishing is the main industry accounting for 96 percent of goods exported.

Saksun, Island of Streymoy
Streymoy is the largest island in the Faroe Islands and Saksun is a tiny remote village nestled between high mountains overlooking a circular lagoon. The lagoon was once a harbour but a storm filled the harbour with sand and formed the lagoon which fills with seawater from the Northern Atlantic Ocean, twice a day. A truly stunning place.

Pastel Winter Rainbow
What a delight this rainbow is. How delicate the pastel colours are. These are also sometimes called Sundogs but I don’t find that a very fitting name for these beauties of nature. By whatever name you call these you and your pets will love to explore all the uses you can put these to in your art. They would make a wonderful slide, whee all the way down from a puffy snow cloud. Who wants to go first?
