Episode 1/25

@ Tunnel of Maple Trees
Brice and Sif are excited to find out what is in store for them in the Autumn Experience! As they enter, they each receive a free map! It reads:
Autumn in Amber
Autumn has well been described by Keats as the "Season of mists and mellow fruitfulness" and pets will here enjoy a ramble through woods with tumbling golden and orange leaves. They can gather hazelnuts, horse chestnuts and fruits, and perhaps forage for mushrooms and dill. Then there are vast fields of wild flowers to explore, and an opportunity to admire the sunset while resting by a rustic barn. Watch your paws or claws crossing the river on the stepping stones—but perhaps splashing in the swirling water is part of the fun!

As you near this autumn realm and hear the thunder of the falls close by, you get to walk through a vividly colorful tunnel of maple leaves with the light of the evening sun at the tunnel's end to attract you further.

@ Silhouette of Flowers at Sunset
Arriving at such a wonderful location spurred Brice on to get to the next stop on the Autumn Experience. However, Amelia sat down, insisting on a rest and complaining of blisters!

As you step out of the tunnel of fall-colored leaves, you are greeted with even more beauty to behold as you see flowers silhouetted by the setting sun. Now you know that the day's journey is almost done!

@ Sunset Across the Field
Oscar nearly stumbled over Brice, who was lying full length on the grass. “I was wishing I’d brought my watercolours,” said Brice. “This just cries out to be painted!”

On her way round The Autumn Experience, Sweetie bumped into Brice. They both paused to drink in the beautiful scene before them before going on to the next location.

You pause for a moment to make sure that the pictures you've been taking of your breath-taking journey today have been capturing what your eyes have been seeing. Even though there is so much beauty for just two eyes to take in, you are pleased with your photos thus far, especially of the light at the end of the tunnel of maple trees!

@ Handful of Horse Chestnuts
Inspired by the sunny day, Seth said, “Wouldn't it be fun to work on the harvest?”
Brice took a more pragmatic view. “You’d have to be up before dawn every day and work for 12 hours practically non-stop!”
Seth hastily revised his romantic harvest vision.

Not only were you enveloped with maple trees, but you also saw some chestnut trees mixed within, and so you grabbed a handful of chestnuts as a souvenir!

@ Bouquet of Fall Flowers
“Isn’t this amazing, Shadow?” declared Brice. “I’m seeing so many flowers and shrubs that I’ve never seen before!”

As you left the woods, with another tree line to your left, you noticed some large blooms of wildflowers along the edge of the trees, and so you picked a few to spruce up your room when you settle in later in the evening.

“Time to move on and shake the next paw!” observed Brice. Donna agreed, but said she was going to stay here awhile and collect pine cones.

“I’m going to have to spend a lot of time when we get back looking up what all these flowers are!” said Brice to Mor'du.

@ Wild White Mushrooms
Faεяydaε and Brice shook paws with each other and compared notes as to how their respective trips had gone so far, and which was the most delicious harvest item they had each come across.

Continuing on the path, you notice along the tree line something white. Not sure if you were seeing flowers, you approach and find that they are wild mushrooms, the edible kind, and so you grab a few to add to a possible stew later in the evening!

@ Running River After the Waterfall
Brice and Jazzabell, having shaken paws, got so engrossed in conversation about the beautiful scenery that they had to hurry along so as not to be left behind! They regretfully bade au revoir and auf Wiedersehen to each other!

As you look to your left, with the waterfall thundering to your right, you see how swiftly the river runs past you as you ensure you have enough stepping stones to get across. One wrong step and you may be staying somewhere further south than you planned!

@ Orange You Glad It's Snack Time?
Brice was excited by seeing all the different harvest produce. “I’m going to apply for an allotment and start growing my own food!” he announced to Amethyst, when they met and shook paws.

As you settle in on your second rock in your river crossing, you remember that your host from last night in the autumn realm of green gave you fresh oranges plucked right off of a tree in their own backyard! Time to get refreshed!

@ Fallen Leaves Floating By
“What have you got in your tote bag, Jin?” asked Brice. “It looks very full!”
“I’ve come prepared for anything the weather can throw at us, Brice,” responded Jin. “There’s deck shoes, snowshoes, tennis shoes, flip-flops, flippers, walking boots, Wellington boots—you name them, I’ve got them!”

As you make your way to the next rock, you noticed flower blooms and leaves floating by. The leaves may have fallen from trees and were blown into the water, perhaps before the waterfall. You stretch out your paw and snag a twig of orange-colored leaves to stick out of your backpack!

@ Plucked Flowers Floating By Too!
"I think I'll take a cutting of the plant in that tub over there," said Brice. The label says it's 'vigorous' and 'fearless'."
Prince sniffed. "That's gardeners' talk for 'an invasive species that will take over your entire garden if permitted'!"

After you cross to your next rock, with the shore almost within reach, you decide to add to your collection of souvenirs by grabbing some of the plucked blooms floating by and wrapping them in paper for safe keeping. These were put in the water by young pets in the autumn realm of green, hoping they would float and float for a long distance.

@ Plenty of Nuts
Fino and Brice counted out their silver moles and bought some of the harvest food. “That one wins first prize for me!” declared Fino.

As you jump and thump from rock to rock, you check your supply of hazelnuts after noticing you hadn't closed your container as well as you thought! Whew! Most are still there!

“My uncle grows these in his back garden,” observed Brice.
“Wow! He must surely have green fingers!” replied ~meepop~.

@ Almost there!
While Brice stood drinking in the amazing view, Milica searched in her backpack for her camera, eager to capture the scene!

As you step onto the shore, you continue to enjoy the sunset and notice the host home close by! What a welcome sight after a long, but joyful day of hiking into a new realm!

Brice tumbled out of the Autumn Experience tourist bus, almost flattening Pixie in the process, then he wondered where the muffled groans were coming from!

As you pass this patch of growth, you pluck a few sprigs in hopes of decorating up the doorway or the table of the home where you'll lay your head down soon.

"How on earth do you identify what this is from the thousands of things it could be?" asked Layla.
"Well," said Brice, "you go through a checklist. Like what sort of leaves does it have, how are they arranged on the stem, do they have stalks, what's its habitat; that kind of thing. I'll lend you a book when we get home."

Brice is enjoying the Autumn Experience when Bella comes along. "Look! A special prize!" says Bella. Brice looks down and sees something valuable. Bella generously lets Brice keep it!
