"'When Shakespeare wrote about a Danish prince in Hamlet, the character was based on an ancient Danish myth about Viking Prince Amled of Jutland'," read out Gendry from the brochure.
Bonny selected another Nidar Smash from the bright yellow bag and crunched pleasurably for a few seconds. "That's a very long play, Gendry. Hey, try one of these chocolate crispy corn things! They're sort of sweet and salty at the same time!"

"There's a statue in Hjørring in Northern Jutland made of recyled materials showing a white unicorn on a plinth of crushed materials," remarked Gendry.

The Island of Møn is in the Baltic Sea and is a must-see for any nature lover! Check out this scenic 4-mile route of chalk cliffs about two hours' drive from Copenhagen -- there are amazing views from the top of the cliffs.

"Did you know LEGO was invented by a Dane, Shadow?" queried Gendry. "It was the brainchild of Ole Kirk Christiansen in the town of Billund in 1949."
"I was reading somewhere that LEGO trees and leaves are now made of converted sugarcane plants, not plastic," responded Shadow.
Gjógv, Faroe Islands
Gorge, named after a 200-metre sea-filled gorge that travels north to the sea. The village was first mentioned in 1584 but it is thought to have been in existence a lot longer. The Gjógv incline railway is the only operating railway in the Faroe Islands and it was installed to transport goods from boats.

Wood Island, is the northernmost island in the Faroe Islands. It has become a very important bird area for breeding birds, some of which are the Atlantic Puffin, Black-Legged Kittiwakes and Common Guillemots.

Christy considered this. "Flag of Denmark. White cross on a red field. You know, when I can't sleep, I list in my head all the national flags in the world that use red and white only—there's about twenty of them, you know. Then I go on to blue and white—I'm digressing. I don't know; what's the answer?"
"The Danish flag, the Dannebrog remains the oldest state flag in the world still in use by an independent nation. It has been recognised as in use from 1219," replied Gendry.

The weather of the Faroe islands is most often windy, wet and cloudy, producing moody skies and misty hills. A house tucked amongst this setting is the perfect place to let the imagination soar.

"Did you know that Danes have the largest Fourth of July celebration outside of the US?" said Gendry.
Pekoe was intrigued. "Interesting, Gendry! Why is that?"
"It goes back to the late 1800s, when one out of every ten Danes left their homeland for America."

There are no native trees on the Faroe Islands. There is evidence that there may have been some stands of Birch and Hazel before human settlement. There are a few stands of trees that have been planted between 1800 and 1900. This location was also used in the James Bond movie, No Time To Die, and one can see why it was chosen.

"Chef was saying last night that the Danish pastry actually originates from Vienna!" remarked Pricilla. "In the 1840s, some Austrian bakers settled in Denmark and introduced the now well-known and much-loved pastry. For this reason Danish pastry is actually called wienerbrød or 'Viennese bread' in Denmark."

The Faroe Islands are an archipelago in the North Atlantic Ocean. Situated halfway between Norway and Iceland. With 1,100 km (687 mi) of coastline, no point in the Faroe islands is further from the sea than 5 km (3 mi). There is no shortage of incredible landscapes.
