Sinatra and Sugar are excited to find out what is in store for them in the Autumn Experience! As they enter, they each receive a free map! It reads:
Fall Fairground North
All the fun of the fair is here to provide your pet with entertainment and thrills, from waterslide to big wheel. And has your pet a strong enough stomach for a death-defying rollercoaster ride? To help restore your pet's equilibrium after all the excitements of the fairground rides, there are stalls selling hot potato snacks, popcorn, toffee apples, candy and delicious cakes and other yummy delights made from the autumn harvest produce! We hope everypet will leave clutching at least one of the fun carnival novelties!

Fairings is the traditional name for edible souvenirs sold at fairs throughout England. These ginger fairings became associated with Cornish fairs and are still popular in the region.

“That should keep me going till I get home tonight,” said Lady Thea to Sinatra, while crumpling her used food container and placing it carefully in a litter bin.

"Mmmm—I probably shouldn't feel this way, but it's lovely to sit here scarfing French fries, doughnuts, candy floss and then a helping of this!" said Tassie.

"Would you like a fork with that, Sinatra?" asked MELODEE, as their respective servings of food were placed on the counter in front of them.
"No, that's fine, thank you, MELODEE! I'm just going to dive in!" (which, in a manner of speaking, he then did).

Midnight Blue, just about to board the next ride, paused and looked around the fairground. "I was just wondering if they had one of those nice, gentle rides where you sit in, you know, giant teacups," she said wistfully. Sinatra grinned. "C'mon, Midnight Blue, this ride should be on your bucket list! Not that you're going to kick the bucket for many years yet!"

"What's the fastest ride here, Sinatra?" asked Franz. "Is it this roller coaster?"
"No, the merry-go-round has more horse power!" said Sinatra.

Big wheel installations became an icon of World's Fairs and Exhibitions and an example at Earl's Court in London erected in 1894 expressed fine engineering combined with opulence. Meanwhile, across the Pond, George Ferris led the way in big wheel design.

The ride had started off fairly gently, but was now gathering speed at a great rate! Foxie and Sinatra had met just as it was starting and had managed to shake paws and say “Hello” before the ride deprived them both of breath!

Sinatra encountered Millicent at the fairground. “Have you been on this ride yet, Millicent?” asked Sinatra. “It’s quite an experience!”

The slides were built to a height of between 70 ft - 80 ft (21-24 m), had a 50 degree drop. Ironically, the Russian term for roller coaster, "amerikanskie gorki", translates literally as "American mountains."

From the queue, Archie nervously eyed the fairground ride whirling beside himself and Sinatra. “What if the cable breaks?” he asked. “Oh, that won’t be a problem!” said Sinatra airily. “They can always get another one!”

As sunset falls, you enjoy the ever-changing view as you chug a little further upwards and then pause as each pod takes on its precious cargo of pets eager to enjoy the ride. Then when all the pods are full, the wheel starts to turn, building up speed!
