This rocky bay provides the perfect place for anypet to rest, play with the numerous pebbles and watch the changing patterns of sunlight on the stone outcrops and distant peaks, or perhaps to dip a cautious paw into the unceasing sea waves running in and back out.

While Tuffe was whistling through his teeth as they ambled through another breathtaking scene, Duck Norris was secretly wishing he had packed ear plugs, or gaffer tape for Tuffe's mug!

Anypet will enjoy exploring the sand dunes with their sharply pointed grey-green leaves and large spikes of creamy-yellow flowers of marram grass in the summer, the backdrop to a sandy beach and the sea.

Tuffe was becoming increasingly irritated with the constant clicking and beeping of Caroline Piper's camera disturbing the peace and quiet, so Tuffe moved purposefully on without him!

This beautiful little bay is irresistible to pets who can’t wait to scamper or flap over the golden sand to get to the top of the stony peninsula and gaze far out to the horizon over the sea.

Tuffe and Frost looked around in awe, wishing they'd thought to pack a picnic to enjoy here!

After months of planning, Tuffe and Aki finally agreed on where they would travel together, and they are both secretly please with their choice!

Tuffe had to travel on alone, as Sheena declared she had found her nirvana, and had no intention of moving on!

As birds fly home to roost and busy pets retire for the night, the West Pasture in Aegis becomes darker and quiet in the setting sun, waiting for the first stirrings from nocturnal pets who are active during the night.

On Sunday afternoons, many pets take an excursion in the formal gardens, which display the Dutch influence of bright tulips making a fine splash of colour against the immaculate lawn.

While Tuffe was busy snapping photos, Cameron wandered off to find a suitable bush, as there was a decided lack of amenities in the immediate area!

While Tuffe normally avoids tourist hotspots, he is glad he allowed Hitra to bring him here!

@ Island: Aegis
Tuffe finally makes it back to the landing stage, where lady ciganko is also about to embark and go home. What an adventure it has been! Tuffe pockets a map of Aegis as a momento. The guidebook says:

When their vessel carefully manoeuvres past the rocks to reach the landing stage, the pets can jump out and explore this delightful little island. There are beautiful, relaxing sandy beaches, rocky hills to climb, a viaduct and old castle ruin to explore, green pastures to take a picnic hamper, woods and forests to ramble in, rivers to jump over, apples to pick and there are flowers galore!
